The Athletic have shared some details about what Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is really like in training at Tottenham Hotspur.
The 26-year-old Dane has almost been ever-present for Spurs since he joined them from Southampton at the start of last season. He was Jose Mourinho’s favourite, so much so, that the ex-Tottenham boss reportedly wants to sign him for AS Roma this summer.
Hojbjerg, for now, is focused on the job at hand at Tottenham Hotspur.
He’s still a key player for Conte and considering how he reportedly is in training at Spurs every day, it is no surprise that every manager he has ever worked with absolutely adores him.
Some at Tottenham think Hojbjerg tries too hard
The report claims that Hojbjerg is viewed by many at Tottenham as either a teacher’s pet who tries too hard or a top professional as he does everything he possibly can to be on the manager’s good side.
One example that has been revealed is what the Dane does before and after every single training session.
Before Conte puts his lads through the paces, Hojbjerg apparently takes the bibs and hands them out individually to his teammates. He does this every single day and he reportedly loves it.
After every training session, the report claims that the former Southampton man stays behind for 15 minutes to discuss tactics with the coaching staff – something that he did when Mourinho was at the helm as well.

TBR View:
Hojbjerg’s antics at Hotspur Way may, at times, be annoying to his Tottenham teammates, but the one thing nobody can deny is that he gives his all for the club every game.
The Dane has had his problems this season, but on the whole, he has been a phenomenal player for Spurs since his move from Southampton in the summer of 2020.
However, it is likely that Conte’s preferred central midfield pairing when everyone’s fit will be Rodrigo Bentancur and Oliver Skipp.
That’s not ideal for Hojbjerg at all, which could potentially push him out of the club in the summer.
