Some Tottenham Hotspur players rolled their eyes when Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg made sure that he was the first player in the club’s training ground on the morning of Antonio Conte’s first day, according to The Athletic.
Hojbjerg has had a mixed time at Spurs. During his first season following his £15 million move, he was arguably one of the side’s only consistent performers alongside the likes of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.

His form has been a little more underwhelming this campaign. And it would seem that it is not just some of his actions on the pitch that have not always impressed.
The Athletic has suggested that Hojbjerg wanted to make sure that he was the first player to get to the training ground on the day Conte started at Tottenham. Apparently, he wanted to touch base with the Italian at the earliest opportunity.

But it would appear that his gesture did not sit particularly well with some of the Tottenham squad. The Athletic reports that some of the players rolled their eyes at Hojbjerg making sure that he was at training early.
Conte being an admirer of Hojbjerg may be all that matters
Hojbjerg may not have impressed some of his Tottenham teammates. But it would appear that Conte feels that he can rely on the Denmark international.
He has played every single Premier League game, barring two, since Conte came in.
Obviously, the injury to Oliver Skipp boosted his hopes of featuring so prominently. And questions will be asked when Conte has the option to pair Skipp with Rodrigo Bentancur. But he does seem to be someone Conte feels that he can count on.
Conte called him and Bentancur ‘incredible‘ after their display together at Manchester City this season.
But he may perhaps just want to keep an eye on how the rest of the Tottenham squad feel about Hojbjerg as the side continue to move forward.
