Jose Enrique has revealed his dream Liverpool XI for the 2022/23 season and it includes two huge signings – Benfica striker Darwin Nunez and Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham.

Liverpool were so close to having the perfect season. They picked up the FA Cup and League Cup by beating Chelsea twice at Wembley, while the Premier League and Champions League titles were in touching distance.

However, Manchester City dangled the league title in front of the Reds on the final day of the season before snatching it away, and Real Madrid got the job done in the Champions League final in Paris.

That has surely left a bitter taste in Jurgen Klopp’s mouth and the Liverpool boss will want nothing more than to right last season’s wrongs in the upcoming campaign.

Liverpool are so strong across the pitch that don’t really need to bring in five new players to challenge Manchester City. Klopp only needs two serious additions – one up top and another in the middle of the park.

Enrique believes that Darwin Nunez, who Liverpool have reportedly bid £85 million to sign this summer, is the perfect player up top. The Uruguayan scored 34 goals last season, and with Sadio Mane set to leave, he’d be a fantastic replacement.

The second player in Enrique’s dream XI is Dortmund’s £100 million-rated star, Bellingham. The Englishman is arguably the best young midfielder in world football, and he’d be a fine signing for Liverpool. However, it won’t be easy to bring him in this summer.

Well, if you’re a Liverpool fan and you’re offered Bellingham and Nunez, you’d be silly to say no.

Both players are absolutely outstanding for their age. They won’t just come to Liverpool and strengthen the Reds for next season, they’ll likely be around for another decade, which makes them fantastic options.

Rumours are leading us to believe that Liverpool’s move for Nunez is a genuine one, and a deal could well happen in the coming weeks.

Bellingham, however, is an unlikely target, and Liverpool may just have to wait another year before they can dream of bringing the talented Englishman to Anfield.
