Tottenham Hotspur fans were left frustrated after their side suffered a 1-0 defeat to Middlesbrough in the FA Cup last night.

Spurs supporters don’t really know what to make of their team anymore. It was crazy to see them beat one of the best teams in the world in Manchester City right after they lost three games on the bounce in the league.

Antonio Conte’s men fell at the first hurdle after that famous win, at Turf Moor against Burnley. The Italian had a real go after the game and Spurs bounced back with a spectacular 4-0 win against Leeds United last weekend.

Just as you thought you could have some faith in this Tottenham side, they disappointed again, this time against a Championship side.

Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer both felt that Spurs supporters in the away end were quiet yesterday.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg completely disagreed as he came out and claimed that the away fans were ‘massively involved’ and had a ‘huge voice’ throughout the game.

Middlesbrough supporters were always going to be louder at home, especially after Josh Coburn’s goal in the 107th minute. However, Spurs fans were great too and they were left disappointed by their players yesterday.

Dejan Kulusevski was spotted making his way to the away end right after the full-time whistle. He raised his hand up in an apologetic fashion and Spurs fans really do deserve an apology after that performance last night.

21-year-old Kulusevski started yesterday and he, like most of his teammates, didn’t have a night to remember.

However, the Swede is still extremely young and has only been in England for a few weeks. He has fared exceedingly well during his time as a Spurs player and he will only get better in the coming weeks and months.

Tottenham’s senior players have to take the blame for the performance yesterday. The likes of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Hojbjerg were all really poor and if this continues, Spurs’ season will end in tears.

Conte’s men take on Everton on Monday and it will be interesting to see if they’ll be able to bounce back.
