Eric Dier and Son Heung-min were involved in a heated argument last night as Tottenham Hotspur crashed out of the FA Cup after losing 1-0 against Championship side Middlesbrough.
Antonio Conte led Spurs to an excellent victory over Leeds United at the weekend and he was a happy man again. It really did look like Tottenham will kick on and go on a run.
Yet again, Spurs fell at the very first hurdle and this time, it was against a side who play their football in the second division.
Tottenham tried really hard to get something from the game, but in the end, Boro deserved the victory for their performance in the second half and in extra time.
Why Eric Dier raged at Tottenham teammate Son Heung-min
Folarin Balogun, a player owned by Tottenham’s great rivals Arsenal, had a huge chance to open the scoring, but the youngster’s effort from the edge of the box was off target.
The chance came after Son lost the ball in the middle of the park. The South Korean received a pass at the halfway line from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and just as he was about to go the other way, he lost the ball and that almost cost Spurs in the second half.
Luckily at that point, Balogun missed the target but Eric Dier was furious with Son. According to Football London, he saw Hojbjerg and the £22 million South Korean having an argument further up the pitch. He rushed there to have a go at the latter for giving the ball away so cheaply.
It’s safe to say, Dier was not happy at all.

TBR View:
If Conte didn’t like what he saw when Spurs lost to Burnley, he would’ve been furious with what he saw yesterday.
None of his top players stepped up last night and most Spurs fans will agree that Boro deservedly knocked them out of the competition.
It’s yet another year without a trophy for Tottenham and there’s no sign that things will get better. Conte’s back is really against the wall now and if things don’t change soon, the chances of him walking away will increase considerably.
