TalkSport pundit Jason Cundy and Jamie O’Hara discussed Tottenham Hotspur’s defeat to Middlesbrough in the FA Cup last night.
Antonio Conte’s career in North London has seen more ups and downs than any rollercoaster he has ever been on.
Spurs lost three games in a row in the Premier League, beat the defending Premier League champions, lost to Burnley, beat Leeds and have now suffered a defeat again, this time against a Championship side.
It has been terrible for Conte and his actions on the touchline make us feel sorry for him.
What Jason Cundy spotted Antonio Conte doing last night
When teams go through difficult periods, it’s the manager who has to stand up and lead his side out of the hole they are in.
Conte, as great a manager as he is, is struggling to do that at the moment and Cundy spotted the Italian just staring into the abyss at one point on the touchline as his side’s hopes of a win disappeared.
“I can’t wait to hear what Antonio Conte has to say now after that,” Cundy said on TalkSport after the game last night.
“He looked lost on the touchline again. Staring into space, just staring.”

Worrying signs?
It’s never ideal for a club to lose as many games as Tottenham have done, especially not when they are doing everything they possibly can to get into the top-four.
Antonio Conte is definitely capable of turning things around at Tottenham but he has to be himself. The way he was on the touchline at times last night just looked like a man who had given up, which is really worrying if you’re a Spurs fan.
Tottenham next face Everton on Monday and the Toffees are a difficult side to beat now under Frank Lampard. If Spurs play like they did yesterday, they will get battered, but we all know they are more than capable of pulling out a performance as good as the one against Manchester City.
Conte will just be hoping that it’s not a repeat of what he saw yesterday.
