The Daily Star journalist Paul Brown has just revealed what insiders at Tottenham Hotspur are saying about rumours linking Spurs with a move to sign Everton star Richarlison.

Antonio Conte’s side have been linked with plenty of attacking players over the last few weeks. Leeds star Raphinha is arguably the biggest name to come out of the rumour mill, but Richarlison is a huge player as well.

Multiple reports have claimed over the last few weeks that Spurs are really keen to sign the Everton man. David Ornstein even said that sources have told him this deal will go through before the window shuts.

That has raised the excitement level among supporters, but Brown has just claimed that people at Tottenham are playing down all the rumours.

The Daily Star journalist spoke to GiveMeSport about all the rumours linking Richarlison with a move to Tottenham Hotspur in this summer’s transfer window.

He said: “It’s certainly possible.

“Richarlison is someone that Tottenham have liked for a long time.

“People at the club play that one down and say that nothing is happening imminently, but everyone knows their interest has been there for a long time and is genuine.”

Like Raphinha, Richarlison will not come cheap this summer.

Everton have their financial issues and will surely be looking for all the help they can possibly get. However, it’s unlikely that they will let Richarlison join a Premier League club for a small fee.

It has been reported that Everton’s asking price for their star Brazilian stands at an eye-watering £65 million. If Spurs meet that demand, they will smash their current transfer record, which is the £53.8 million that they paid to sign Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon back in 2019 (BBC).

It will be interesting to see how this pans out in the coming weeks, but if Spurs can get this deal over the line, Conte’s attacking options next season will be phenomenal.
