Journalist Ben Jacobs has told The Football Terrace that Newcastle United want Richarlison should they fail to sign Hugo Ekitike, with Everton open to selling the forward in this window.
Magpies fans are probably waiting for their window to really get going. They have signed Matt Targett. But Eddie Howe is yet to add any new faces to his ranks ahead of pre-season.

Of course, the name most commonly linked with Newcastle is Ekitike. Reports claimed a few weeks ago that the Magpies agreed a £40 million fee for the Reims starlet. And only the last few details were left to be finalised before the youngster moved to Tyneside.
However, some time has now passed. And Ekitike is yet to be stood at the side of the St James’ Park pitch holding the famous black and white shirt.

And Newcastle are considering other options.
Jacobs was talking about the prospect of Chelsea pursuing a deal for Richarlison. And the journalist claimed that Newcastle would also be ready to make a move if Ekitike does not join.
“[He is] a player that is available in the market. And there’s a few clubs currently looking at him. Newcastle United are considering a swoop as well if they don’t get Ekitike,” he told The Football Terrace.
Newcastle want Richarlison
Richarlison is not going to come cheap. Reports have claimed that Everton want up to £65 million for the 25-year-old.
There is also interest from Tottenham, while Arsenal have already been snubbed.
He has been described as a ‘special‘ player. And he has already scored 48 Premier League goals during his career, despite often playing in sides that have struggled in the top-flight.
He would definitely be an upgrade on the options Newcastle already have. And, unlike Ekitike, he would not need too much time to settle in if he joined the Magpies.
