Liverpool’s transfer business was, without a doubt, one of the standouts of the window this summer, following a huge influx of signings.
After ending up as somewhat surprise winners of last season’s Premier League title, the hierarchy were not resting on their laurels.
Liverpool spent £446 million on transfers, hopeful that it would give Arne Slot the keys to even more future success.
The Reds broke the British transfer record twice, signing Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen before a huge transfer deadline day deal for Alexander Isak.
A move for Hugo Ekitike has also caught the eye early on, as Liverpool have taken three wins from their opening Premier League fixtures, and have arguably won the entire transfer window too.
While all of those flashy moves may catch the headlines, it’s another deal setup by the recruitment team that deserves more praise, following a full arrival this summer.

Giorgi Mamardashvili’s transfer to Liverpool deserves more credit after Premier League goalkeeper chaos
Liverpool have gained something of a reputation for being smart operators in the transfer market, which has often been associated with getting some value.
Many may point towards their big spend this summer as being atypical to the usual approach from the Reds, but that’s not to say there hasn’t been some value in their business over the past year.
Giorgi Mamardashvili may well be the best case for this, even if that value hasn’t been fully realised yet, as he makes his full arrival this season.
Liverpool agreed to sign Mamardashvili last summer, landing him for £29 million before loaning him back out to Valencia.
The Georgian shot-stopper is currently the number two to Alisson Becker, but with a view to being the number one once the Brazilian moves on.
Nobody has really spoken about his arrival, but considering the goalkeeping chaos that has occurred this summer, it seems to have been a smart approach from Liverpool to land him.
Manchester City signed James Trafford and Gianluigi Donnarumma over the past window, with Ederson moving the other way, causing a bit of chaos within their ranks.
Manchester United have been debating over the futures of Andre Onana and Altay Bayandir, while signing Senne Lammens.
Aston Villa are another side dealing with the goalkeeper chaos, as Emiliano Martinez was linked with an exit that never came.
Amidst all that uncertainty, Liverpool already have a clear plan in mind for their next shot-stopper, with Mamardashvili ready to step in for Alisson at some point, yet no one is talking about it.
It’s the sign of a club building for a dynasty at the top, something proven by their latest set of transfers.

Liverpool’s transfers point towards dominance for years to come
Many would be forgiven for thinking that Liverpool’s spell at the top would come to an end once Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah move on.
The pair have been part of a spine at Anfield that has been consistently performing at a world-class level for years.
While there is an expectation that they are nearing the end of their peaks, the next generation of superstars are ready to step up.
The additions of Hugo Ekitike, Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz point to stars ready to replicate the impact of Salah across the frontline, but with their best years still ahead of them.
Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez are of a similar mould for the backline, with their peaks still ahead, along with the promise of Giovanni Leoni.
This is a Liverpool team not only ready to win now, but ready to win for many years to come.
