Manchester United are on the verge of signing Senne Lammens, and Thibaut Courtois has given the seal of approval to Rio Ferdinand.
The Belgian keeper, Senne Lammens, was preferred to Emi Martinez on transfer deadline day for Manchester United.
Despite concrete Martinez-to-United links, the Red Devils have opted for the younger, and probably cheaper, option as they look for Andre Onana’s successor.

Lammens is only 23 and has years ahead of him. This is something the great Thibaut Courtois has outlined.
Rio Ferdinand shares what Thibaut Courtois said about Senne Lammens
On his YouTube channel, Rio went live to discuss Manchester United’s business on deadline day, with the topic of goalkeepers a huge conversation.
He went off-screen briefly and notified his co-hosts that it was none other than legendary Belgian keeper Courtois with a voice note.
Rio then revealed what he said about Man United’s new shot-stopper.
Rio begins: “Just so you know, that voice note was from Thibaut Courtois. He let me know about Lammens because he’s a Belgian player, and he was just giving me the heads up about what he’s like.
“He said he’s a huge talent, obviously not experienced yet, but he thinks his style will be well-suited to the Premier League as well.
“So that’s a recommendation from probably one of the best goalkeepers in the world, Thibaut Courtois. I’ll take that. I keep seeing people talk about the talent and whatnot, but the problem is: can Man United afford to wait for talent to develop at this point in time? That’s the question.”
Lammens has the seal of approval from Courtois, which will be music to United supporters’ ears.
Manchester United fans need to back Senne Lammens
Lammens is a young goalkeeper, and United fans need to give him time. As Courtois said, he’s not the finished article, but has the potential to be.
David de Gea arrived at Manchester United as a youngster and initially struggled, but given the adequate time to develop and blossom at Old Trafford, he became a world-beater.
The pair also share striking similarities.
Now, United fans must do the same with their new No.1. Welcome, Senne Lammens.
