Liverpool’s 2025 summer transfer business will go down as one of the best by a club in recent memory, with Alexander Isak arriving for a British record fee.
However, a great window could have been even better had Marc Guehi joined from Crystal Palace, but the move to Liverpool collapsed in the final hour of the transfer window as Palace couldn’t sign a replacement.
Goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili joined after signing 12 months ago, before an early summer spending spree saw Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez sign from Bayer Leverkusen and Bournemouth respectively.

Florian Wirtz arrived for a then club-record £116m, followed by Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike, before Liverpool smashed that on deadline day with Isak’s signing. Youngster Giovanni Leoni also arrived for the future.
Liverpool’s summer signings ranked – Milos Kerkez and Florian Wirtz experience slow starts
7 – Giovanni Leoni
Purely due to his age and inexperience, Leoni is at the bottom of the list. Hopes are high for the Italian at Anfield, and he will have time to develop alongside Virgil Van Dijk – especially without the added competition of Marc Guehi.
6 – Georgi Mamardashvili
The goalkeeper adds quality back-up to Alisson, but will be second choice for the time being. If he can replicate Caoimhin Kelleher’s impact in the cup competitions, he will do well.
5 – Milos Kerkez
£40m is a decent price for Kerkez, who excelled at Bournemouth last season. Early performances have been a little erratic, however, as he adapts to Arne Slot’s system.

4 – Florian Wirtz
With such a high transfer fee, it is a little underwhelming to see Wirtz’s performances so far. More will be expected of the playmaker – but what better way to get his creativity flowing than adding Alexander Isak to the attack.
Hugo Ekitike ranks above Alexander Isak for best Liverpool signing of 2025 summer transfer window
3 – Jeremie Frimpong
Not a like-for-like replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold, but a dynamic one and he’s already off the mark in the Community Shield. The £29m fee represents great value.
2 – Alexander Isak
He will guarantee goals and Liverpool fans will love the lengths he went to secure a move away from Newcastle. His British-record fee will bring pressure and scrutiny, though, so he will have to get up to speed quickly.
1 – Hugo Ekitike
At half the price to Isak, Ekitike is already off the mark and looks the part with his early Liverpool performances. It remains to be seen how Ekitike and Isak will play in the same system – however Ekitike will make it mightily difficult for Arne Slot to drop him.
