‘Assist machine’ wanted by Tottenham now ‘ready to pack his bags’

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Samuel Iling-Junior in recent weeks and speculation is intensifying ahead of the January transfer window.

For instance, the Evening Standard recently reported that Spurs are now leading the race to sign the out-of-favour Juventus winger.

Now, Calciomercato.it have provided a new report that bodes well for Tottenham in their hopes of signing Iling-Junior.

Ange Postecoglou is expected to be busy in the January transfer window. He’s likely to make attempts to strengthen his squad due to an ongoing injury crisis at Tottenham.

Meanwhile, Iling-Junior is struggling for game time at Juve and multiple reports have been suggesting that he wants to leave the Turin club in 2024.

Calciomercato.it have now reported that the Serie A giants actively ‘want to sell’ the 20-year-old. He is ‘no longer being considered’ by Max Allegri and ‘on the margins’ of the team.

This appears to be due to tactics. Allegri – who plays in 3-5-2 – is said to prefer players who are more ‘tactically educated’, such as Filip Kostic, and more defensively inclined, such as Andrea Cambiaso.

Likewise, the article says Allegri has other options in the offensive areas, which don’t include the reported Spurs target.

And the feeling appears to be mutual. Iling-Junior is apparently ‘ready to pack his bags’. Meanwhile, his representatives are said to be heading for England in search of options.

The London-born player is reportedly valued at between €15-20million (£13-17million). The player’s contract (which runs until 2025) apparently plays a part in that valuation.

Tottenham signing Samuel Iling-Junior would be a no-brainer – TBR View

All in all, it looks like a no-brainer for Tottenham, who are without Manor Solomon and Ivan Perisic for the foreseeable future due to injury.

Iling-Junior is just 20 years old, incredibly talented with a high ceiling, versatile and has English football experience. He has been deemed an ‘assist machine‘, which is never a bad thing.

In addition, he seems keen on a return to the Premier League, his contract’s up in 2025, his club appears open to selling, and Spurs could end up paying less than £20million.

Likened to Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies, Iling-Junior could be a bargain signing for Tottenham.
