'You have to': £15m Tottenham man really wants Daniel Levy to spend big on new players this summer
Tottenham Hotspur star Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has urged Daniel Levy to spend big money to help improve the squad in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Spurs have spent a bit of money over the last two years but it has simply not been enough compared to the teams above them in the Premier League.
Levy struck gold when he convinced Antonio Conte to become the club’s new manager, and the Italian has done a tremendous job. However, he needs to be backed this summer if he’s to take Tottenham to the next level.

Hojbjerg, who’s tired of seeing other clubs spend tons of money in every window, wants his side to splash some cash too this summer.

The midfielder, who joined Spurs from Southampton for £15 million in 2019, said, as per The Mirror: “Every club in England that wants to compete to win the title has to invest important money, not only Tottenham.
“You have to make a big investment because you can organise your team, give your players every type of information, train well and take care of the details but, in the end, you need to have important players because top players bring you to win.
“In the last season, City bought Jack Grealish for £100m, Chelsea bought Romelu Lukaku for £100m and United bought Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo.
“If the top teams spent a lot of money, you have to think that for a team that starts a bit lower than the others, how much do they have to spend to be competitive?”

It’s not often that a player publicly comes out and urges the club to spend some money in the transfer window, but it looks like that’s exactly what Hojbjerg has done.
Tottenham fans really are tired with their club’s transfer policy. They spent big on Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso recently, but both players have already become surplus to requirements.
The over-reliance on Son Heing-min and Harry Kane is arguably still the same as what it was three or four years ago. That’s not ideal at all and the only way this will change is if Spurs bring in some world-class players.
The summer transfer window is not too far away now and it will be interesting to see if Conte will be given the funds he needs to make Tottenham a top club.
