Tottenham Hotspur are open to selling Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg for the right price as long as they can find a replacement for the Newcastle United target, according to a report from the Daily Express.

Reports on Tuesday claimed that the Magpies were preparing to make a £30 million bid for the Dane. It comes with Eddie Howe’s men preparing for their first summer window under new ownership.

The move would see Spurs double their money on Hojbjerg. It is not clear what their actual asking price for the 26-year-old is. But it does appear that they are open to letting him move on in the coming months.

According to a report from the Daily Express, Tottenham will sell Hojbjerg for the right price. They also want to be able to find a replacement for the former Southampton man before letting him go.

A look on social media when the initial links emerged would suggest that the Tottenham fans are divided over the idea of Newcastle signing Hojbjerg.

Some are adamant that he needs to stay. And plenty have no interest in seeing him leave for £30 million. Others however, believe that Tottenham should not hesitate to take the money.

That highlights how Hojbjerg can divide the fanbase. Antonio Conte has described him as ‘incredible‘. But there is also excitement about the prospect of Oliver Skipp and Rodrigo Bentancur working together in midfield.

Much may depend on who Tottenham can sign to replace Hojbjerg. But if they line up an exciting replacement, it is unlikely that many Spurs fans will have too much of a problem if the club sanction his departure.
