The new Premier League season is fast approaching and Liverpool are now starting to accelerate their transfer business.
They’re yet to sign a player this summer but Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi appears to be closing in on a move to Liverpool.
Zubimendi has been linked with a move to Arsenal and Manchester United this summer but The Reds have now stolen a march on his signature.
It’s also just emerged that one of their rumoured transfer targets is refusing to train…

Teun Koopmeiners refused to train
Liverpool have been heavily linked with Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners for much of the summer transfer window.
The Merseysiders have made contact with the Serie A club over a potential deal and now, according to Alfredo Pedulla, he’s refusing to train.
Though, it’s not to force through a move to Liverpool but rather Juventus who have put themselves in pole position to land Koopmeiners, who has been labelled ‘world class’ per Matteo Bonetti.
It seems Liverpool are focused on signing Zubimendi, anyway, so perhaps Koopmeiners was a second-choice target.
Liverpool now need a striker
Once the deal to sign Zubimendi is complete, Slot should be in the market for a centre-forward as Darwin Nunez isn’t quite of the level required.
Indeed Nunez can improve but he needs support so Liverpool are thought to be considering a move for Maximilian Beier.
The Hoffenheim attacker scored 16 goals in the Bundesliga last season and aged just 21, he has plenty of time to get even better.
Beier has a £34m release clause, so it’d be a viable deal.
