French football expert Julien Laurens has given Everton fans something to cheer about, after comparing midfielder Amadou Onana to Paul Pogba.
The ESPN pundit gave Everton fans a taste of what to expect from Onana: “This is a very, very talented player.
“He’s a very exciting player, a midfielder who can play pretty much all across the midfield. For me he’s a great box-to-box because he’s powerful, he’s good on the ball, he’s tall, he’s strong, he will drive the ball very well.”
“He’s very much like a (Aurelien) Tchouameni, or a Paul Pogba, but he’s got more of a defensive mind as well, he can sit and play a little bit deeper as well, although you will lose a lot of his potential going forward if you restrict him to a more defensive position.
“I think he’s got all the qualities to play in English football. I think this is a league that’s made for him.”

It’s a very exciting update for Everton fans, with the club finally set to bring in the midfielder Frank Lampard has been chasing all summer.
It was confirmed earlier today by Fabrizio Romano that Everton have a full agreement with Lille, and Lampard will be hoping the deal is confirmed as quickly as possible.
Onana compared to Tchouamani and Pogba
Comparing Onana to World Cup winning midfielder Paul Pogba is high praise indeed.
The French star is highly regarded as one of the best passers and carriers of the ball in the world, as well as being a supreme athlete.
It’s still very early days in the 20-year-old’s career to be compared to a player like Pogba, with the midfielder only making his international debut in Belgium’s Nations League fixtures in June.

He only joined Lille from Bundesliga 2 side Hamburg 12 months ago, and managed just 11 starts in the league last season.
However, he appears to have made enough of an impression to convince several Premier League sides to try and bring sign him this summer, and Everton have won the race.
The Toffees are still trying to get rid of several stars in this window, with a midfielder he may replace, Andre Gomes, on that list.
