Newcastle United are the in-form team in the Premier League right now, after a fantastic 4-0 win over Aston Villa.

A Callum Wilson brace and goals from Miguel Almiron and Joelinton rewarded a fine Newcastle performance.

Eddie Howe will be hoping his players don’t get too carried away, but it’s a very exciting time to be a fan at St. James’ Park.

Newcastle stayed in fourth with the win, and now have two more league matches to capitalise on their good form before the World Cup.

A player who has exceeded all expectations with his performances this season is Miguel Almiron.

The Paraguayan international now has seven league goals this season, and six in October.

It’s already his best season in front of goal since signing for Newcastle from Atlanta United.

His good form has certainly been noticed by his teammates after he celebrated his side’s win on Instagram.

Bruno Guimaraes and Joe Willock were among a number of Newcastle players who were really impressed with Almiron’s performance.

The Paraguayan winger shared several pictures of him celebrating his fantastic goal.

His teammates flocked to celebrate his wonderful strike, with Willock calling him ‘Player of the month’.

Bruno Guimaraes said the impressive Almiron was on fire, while Sven Botman simply described him as ‘unbelievable’.

His performances have drawn comparisons to Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva in recent weeks.

While Jacob Murphy has already said this month that Almiron should be in contention to win the Ballon d’Or.

Paraguay’s absence from the World Cup in Qatar will give Almiron another month to continue improving under the guidance of Eddie Howe.

Howe has already said he’s been really impressed with Almiron’s work ethic in training, and it’s paying dividends on the pitch.

Guimaraes and his teammates have every right to be impressed with Almiron’s performance yesterday.

The squad are now on an unlikely run to break into Europe this season, and certainly look worthy of their top four spot right now.
