Newcastle United winger Jacob Murphy has congratulated Miguel Almiron on his match-winning performance against Everton last night.

Almiron continued his fine recent form to earn the Magpies all three points in a 1-0 win over Frank Lampard’s men.

It was his fourth goal of the month and he is clearly playing the best football of his Newcastle career so far, thriving in Eddie Howe’s system.

After the game, Almiron took to Instagram to celebrate his goal and winning the player of the match award for the game.

There were many messages of congratulations in the comments, including from £12 million man Murphy, who also started the game last night.

Former Magpies winger Laurent Robert was also in there, alongside Alan Shearer and England goalkeeper Nick Pope.

Eddie Howe has done a great job of reinvigorating some of the players he has inherited, blending them with the new faces.

Almiron is seemingly happy and enjoying his football, which is reflected in the way he has gone up a level in recent games.

Next up for Newcastle is a trip to face a Tottenham side who are imperious at home but are coming off the back of a defeat at Manchester United.

Spurs are three places and five points ahead of Newcastle so a win in north London would be a huge boost in the chase for European football.
