Miguel Almiron and Callum Wilson have been named as the two ‘most likely’ players to leave Newcastle United before the deadline.

Newcastle are eyeing midfield reinforcements before Thursday’s deadline but are in a position where they will have to sell to buy.

It’s led to suggestions that the Magpies are considering offloading a couple of key players – Miguel Almiron and Callum Wilson

Chelsea have already been linked with a surprise move for Wilson, with Howe’s men reportedly demanding around £18 million to sell the striker this month.

Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Shabab are continuing to push for the signing of Almiron.

And as Newcastle bid to raise funds ahead of the deadline, Almiron and Wilson have been labelled the most likely players to depart.

Almiron and Wilson ‘most likely’ to leave Newcastle

The Sun claims that Howe has already publicly admitted that players could leave St James’ Park this week.

It’s led to inquiries for Joe Willock from Premier League rivals but Howe’s men have no intention of selling the midfielder.

Yet, the outlet claims that as things stand, Almiron and Wilson look the ‘most likely’ to leave Newcastle this week.

Newcastle are in a difficult position at the moment as they will be forced to offload players before bolstering Howe’s squad.

The English boss is in desperate need of reinforcements in midfield, particularly after Sandro Tonali’s ban and a recent injury to Joelinton.

Howe’s men have already missed out on Kalvin Phillips after the Englishman completed a switch to West Ham United.

But it would be a surprise to see both Almiron and Wilson leave this month as it would leave Howe short of options in the attacking areas.

While Newcastle do need to sell to buy, they will undoubtedly be wary of offloading too many players in one area of the pitch, particularly as they would have little time to replace them.
