Some Arsenal fans react to news over Sassuolo's demands for Locatelli

Some Arsenal fans have reacted after news emerged over the demands for Manuel Locatelli.

According to Calciomercato, Sassuolo are prepared to accept a two-year loan deal for the midfielder, which will cost €8-10m (£6.9m-£8.6m).

The Serie A club also wants to include an obligation to purchase the ace, costing €35m (£30m), of which €10m (£8.6m) will be add-ons. €5m (£4.3m) will be easy to achieve, while the rest will be very difficult.

Arsenal were extremely keen on signing the Euro 2020 winner, however, the feeling wasn’t mutual. According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, the Italy international has not been listening to the Gunners’ interest.

Locatelli was a key part of the Italy side that won this summer’s European Championships. The ace made five appearances as the Azzurri beat England on penalties in the final.

Arsenal never had a chance at signing Locatelli

Previous reports have claimed the north Londoners were willing to meet Sassuolo’s demands for the ‘world-class’ midfielder.

However, that proves irrelevant given Locatelli’s personal preference. It has been widely reported that the 23-year-old has his heart set on a move to Juventus.

As a result, Arsenal never had a chance at signing Locatelli despite meeting Sassuolo’s demands. It proves a shame, but the club can now move on to more realistic targets.
