Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte is doing everything he possibly can to make his Spurs side a winning team.
The North Londoners have always been an inconsistent side but this year has just been woeful. Their wins and losses record in 2022 reads WLWLWLWLLWLWL, which is not a good look at all.
Conte has never really had to go through something like this in his managerial career over the last decade. He almost always got his side to winning ways at Juventus, Chelsea and Inter Milan, but it’s just not happening for him at Tottenham.
As a result, he has decided to employ a few new ways to make his side better.
What Conte told his Tottenham players after Burnley defeat
Conte had one of the biggest managerial meltdowns in the Premier League in February. Right after his side suffered a 1-0 defeat at Burnley, the Italian almost pleaded to get sacked, which was alarming to every fan.
The Spurs boss later described his outburst as a tactic to wake his players up. What he did behind the scenes, however, is what did the trick ahead of their game against Leeds United, which they convincingly won 4-0.
Football London revealed today that Conte threatened his players after the Burnley defeat. He told them that he’d make them all stay at The Lodge, the hotel at Hotspur Way, if they failed to beat Leeds.
Spurs players stepped up and got the job done at Elland Road after that threat, but it’s back to square one now.

TBR View:
Some pundits described Conte’s outburst after the Burnley game as childish. One can only imagine what they’ll say about the Italian’s threat to his own players to get his side back to winning ways.
However, what Conte did before the Leeds game clearly worked. Spurs battered Marcelo Bielsa’s side and the Argentine lost his job following that heavy defeat.
After Spurs’ loss against Middlesbrough last night, it will be interesting to see if Conte will use the same threat again. Maybe he’ll come up with a new one, but considering how poor Tottenham have been recently, it will take something special to make them a consistent side.
