West Ham United scouts have been impressed by midfielders Edson Alvarez, Ibrahim Sangare and Hugo Guillamon.

90Min report that the Hammers are on the lookout for new players for their engine room as we approach the January transfer window.

They say that there has been no progress over a new deal for Tomas Soucek, who has of course formed a strong partnership with captain Declan Rice.

The report also acknowledges a lack of long-term certainty over Rice’s situation and states West Ham know they need central midfielders.

West Ham impressed by Alvarez, Sangare and Guillamon

West Ham’s interest in Sangare has been reported last month and the report says the Hammers have been watching him extensively.

They have been impressed with what they have seen from the PSV Eindhoven midfielder, who also apparently has interest from Liverpool.

Ajax midfielder Alvarez has also earned glowing reviews and his former manager Erik ten Hag called him ‘fantastic‘ before moving to Manchester United.

There is also extensive English interest in Alvarez, with table-toppers Arsenal linked, as well as Newcastle and De Telegraaf claimed Alvarez skipped Ajax training to try and force a late move to Chelsea during the summer.

Guillamon can play as a defender and as a midfielder, and that versaility could well appeal to Moyes if he decides to swoop.

The report says Alvarez and Sangare are open to moving to the Premier League if the opportunity arises, which should please West Ham.

Sangare has a PSV deal until 2027, but that is not seen as a huge dampener on his desire to make the move to the Premier League.

It remains to be seen which of the potential targets David Moyes puts at the top of his list and he is notoriously meticulous when it comes to pushing the button on a player, even if that slows the process down.
