Tottenham transfer news: Lucas Moura being offered out for January move

Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to get a few deals completed in the final weeks of the January transfer window.

As reported by the Daily Mail, that could include both incomings and outgoings.

Antonio Conte is desperate to add some much-needed quality to his squad this month.

Wing-back Pedro Porro appears to be his number one target, with a bid rejected for the Portuguese this week.

Conte doesn’t appear to be convinced by any of the right-sided defenders currently in the squad.

There has been talks of Emerson Royal potentially being sold, but that would rely on a replacement coming in.

Conte would also like another attacker in the squad to cover for Dejan Kulusevski in case he picks up another injury.

The Swede is vital to how Spurs play, and the team’s form certainly suffers when he’s unavailable.

The Daily Mail now report that one player who could replace Kulusevski no longer has a future at the club.

They believe that Tottenham are now offering out Lucas Moura to prospective clubs.

The £90,000-a-week winger’s contract runs out in the summer, and it doesn’t look like he’ll be offered an extension.

Tottenham now offering out Lucas Moura

The report states that Spurs have given struggling Everton the chance to sign Lucas Moura.

Lucas still has plenty to offer in the Premier League as long as he can get over his injury issues.

Conte has recently said that Moura has found things really difficult this season due to his injuries.

He’s managed to make eight league appearances this season, but they’ve all been from the bench.

Given Conte has started Bryan Gil in recent games, the opportunities would certainly be there for Lucas if he was fully fit.

At the beginning of the season, it was made clear that Lucas wanted to stay at Spurs and try and win a trophy before leaving.

The fact that Tottenham are now offering Lucas out to other clubs is unsurprising.

Even so, plenty of Spurs fans will be sad to see him leave.

He put in one of the best individual performances ever seen in a Tottenham shirt to help them reach the Champions League final.

Lucas will always be fondly remembered at the club, even if he moves on this month.
