Tottenham Hotspur were unable to come away from their trip to Frankfurt with three points last night.

Antonio Conte’s side played out a 0-0 draw, however, in reality they should have won the game.

A report from Football London examined Spurs’ build-up to the match, including an unusual warm-up from Fraser Forster.

The former England international signed for Tottenham in the summer from Southampton on a free transfer.

Forster has come in as Hugo Lloris’ number two and is yet to make his Spurs debut.

There were some doubts over Lloris’ fitness going into the north London derby.

However, Tottenham’s captain was fine to play and Forster remained on the bench.

Spurs have yet to play any domestic cup fixtures, which is when Forster could get an opportunity.

Although Football London believe his unusual warm-up last night might indicate a potential start soon.

Forster did an unusually long warm-up last night

The report from Football London suggests Forster had an ‘extended session’ last night after Lloris had returned to the dressing room.

Journalist Alasdair Gold believes this was to try and get Forster used to playing in front of a crowd, with a view to a start soon.

Considering Tottenham’s place in the next round of the Champions League is far from confirmed, it’s unlikely Forster will feature in Europe.

Spurs’ next Carabao Cup fixture is over a month away, when they travel to Nottingham Forest.

It may be that this is the fixture Forster’s unusual warm-up is preparing him for.

However, Lloris didn’t cover himself in glory during the north London derby on Saturday.

BBC pundit Garth Crooks called Lloris a ‘liability’ after the game, which may be a touch harsh given he’s won a World Cup.

Tottenham have been thinking about the future of their goalkeeping position.

Illan Meslier, Alban Lafont and Marc-Andre ter Stegen have all been linked with a move to north London.

For now, Forster will be hoping he can make his Tottenham debut soon.
