Report: Antonio Conte wants Tottenham to sign 'one of the best players in the world', he's been called 'perfect'
Lloris is currently the number one shot stopper at the club and has been for the past 10 years, ever since making the switch from Lyon in 2012.
The Spurs captain has been an amazing servant for the club and has racked up 426 appearances for the north London side. But at 36, the French keeper is now heading towards the end of his career.
And Conte is now said to be eyeing a possible successor for Lloris’ throne in Ter Stegen.
Conte wants to sign Ter Stegen
The German goalkeeper currently has just under three-years left on deal with Barca. But the Catalan club could be tempted to sell the 30-year-old to improve their financial situation.
Ter Stegen would be a brilliant signing for Spurs and has been labelled as one of the world’s best by former Germany teammate Toni Kroos.
Speaking to AS back in 2018, Kroos said: “Marc is one of the best in the world and without doubt he is the perfect keeper… for Barcelona.
“The best thing about Ter Stegen is that he makes very few mistakes. He’s perfect for Barca because he starts moves from the back and there aren’t many keepers who can do that.”
Ter Stegen has enjoyed a glittering career, having won the Champions League and four La Liga titles with Barca.
The shot stopper would be an unbelievable signing for Spurs and the perfect successor to Lloris. The Frenchman has shown no real signs of slowing down and has rarely made mistakes under Conte.
But in Ter Stegen, Spurs could pick up one of the best players in the world in his position. The German goalkeeper has shown in his time at Barca to be very capable of playing out from the back.
Lloris has proven to be an incredible shot stopper for Spurs but has always struggled in terms of having the ball at his feet.
