Report: Nottingham Forest could now make a move for Harry Winks

Nottingham Forest could make a move for Harry Winks in the final week of the summer transfer window, according to a report from the Evening Standard.

The situation surrounding Winks appears to be ramping up. As the report notes, he is training on his own after falling out of favour under Antonio Conte.

Spurs may have felt that he was heading to Italy. Reports claimed that they had all but agreed a loan move with Sampdoria on Tuesday. However, Winks has apparently asked for more time to mull over moving to Serie A.

The 26-year-old expects an offer from a Premier League side. And perhaps that bid may ultimately come from the City Ground.

The Evening Standard is now reporting that both Southampton and Forest want Winks. And the pair could look to make an offer for the midfielder before the window shuts.

Winks would prefer to stay in England.

Nottingham Forest could make Winks move

Forest are keen on a number of Tottenham players if reports are correct. It has been suggested that they have made a £13.5 million bid for Japhet Tanganga.

Meanwhile, reports on Wednesday claimed that they hoped to sign Sergio Reguilon.

So Forest fans may not be surprised at all to see them linked with Winks given how likely it has seemed that he will move this summer.

Steve Cooper’s side have strengthened in the middle of the park. But it does appear that they need more quality in that position. And Winks could be a smart signing depending on how much Spurs want for him.

He has previously been labelled ‘unbelievable‘. And when he did play for Tottenham last season, there were signs that he still has something to offer.

Perhaps it may be Forest who offer him that new challenge.
