Juventus have now made contact over a move for Sergio Reguilon, but Tuttomercatoweb reports that it is Nottingham Forest who lead the race to sign the Tottenham Hotspur defender.

Reguilon will surely leave Spurs in the coming days. It will certainly do him no favours to stick around while he is playing no part in Antonio Conte’s plans in North London.

There is interest in the 25-year-old. Reports this week claimed that Forest want Reguilon as they continue to bolster their squad following promotion.

And Tuttomercatoweb reports that they lead the charge for the left-back’s signature.

But another side has just joined the race. Juventus have now made contact over a potential move for the former Real Madrid star.

Interestingly, it is suggested that Forest hope to seal a deal for Reguilon in the coming hours. So Juve may have to act quickly if they hope to take him to Italy.

A move to Turin will surely appeal a lot more to Reguilon than a switch to the City Ground. With the World Cup just around the corner, it will arguably be a lot easier for the full-back to catch the eye of Luis Enrique with the Old Lady.

Juve can offer Champions League football. And they will be looking to challenge for the Scudetto after a couple of underwhelming years.

Having said that, Alex Sandro has started the season well. So Reguilon may be wary of joining a side where he is less likely to play.

That may play into Forest’s hands in the coming days.

It says a lot about how far the club have come under Steve Cooper that there is a genuine conversation to be had regarding whether Forest could beat Juventus to the signing of a ‘brilliant£27 million player.
