Tottenham and Sampdoria were closing in on agreeing a deal for Harry Winks on Tuesday before the player asked for more time to think over a move, with Gianluca Di Marzio reporting that he is now expecting a bid from a Premier League club.
Winks is one player who desperately needs to move before the window shuts. He is clearly not in Antonio Conte’s plans in North London. The 25-year-old has not been involved in their opening three Premier League games.

Reports this week claimed that he had been offered to Roma. But it is another Serie A side who appear to be on pole position to secure his signature.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Sampdoria had nearly agreed a loan for the England international on Tuesday. But the player may throw a late spanner in the works.

The report claims that Winks has now asked for a couple of days to mull over the deal. And he is actually expecting a Premier League side to now make an offer.
Winks asked for more time to think over Sampdoria move
Winks has to move before the deadline passes. It will do him absolutely no favours to still be a Tottenham player by the time the window shuts.
He may feel a little more relaxed now that he has an offer from Sampdoria. Mauricio Pochettino called him an ‘amazing‘ player. And there have now been several players who have relaunched their careers in Italy.
But you can also understand why he may be holding off on a decision if he thinks that a Premier League offer is imminent.
Much may depend on which club comes calling. But a Premier League move may be the most appealing option for the Spurs academy graduate.
