Report: Napoli now make their move to sign ‘incredible’ player who Conte reportedly wants at Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte is very keen to add a couple of players to his squad in the next few weeks.

An attacker and a right-back appear to be his key priorities, but he certainly won’t turn down quality players in other positions.

A report from 90min has provided some potentially bad news regarding one proposed target.

One player that could have acted as that attacking reinforcement was Ruslan Malinovskyi.

The Ukrainian is a versatile forward who could act as quality cover for Dejan Kulusevski.

However, he now looks set to join Marseille in this window.

In the right-back area, Denzel Dumfries and Pedro Porro are the two names being closely linked with Spurs.

Moves for both players are worth keeping an eye on over the coming weeks.

However, 90min’s latest report concentrates on a midfielder who starred at the World Cup: Azzedine Ounahi.

The Moroccan was sensational in Qatar, and helped his side become the first African nation ever to reach the semi-finals.

The ‘incredible’ 22-year-old has been linked with Spurs in the last week.

90min now believe Napoli have made a bid to sign Ounahi, with La Repubblica previously suggesting it’s his preferred destination.

It means Spurs will have to act quickly if they wish to bring in the exciting Moroccan.

Napoli make bid for Tottenham target Ounahi

The report from 90min states Napoli have made a bid of €15m [£13.1m] plus add-ons for the Moroccan.

It’s well below the €40m [£35.2m] asking price French club Angers have set for him in this window.

However, one of the key sticking points for Angers is that any deal they do in January includes a loan-back clause for the next six months.

That’s exactly what 90min believe they have included in their bid to sign the World Cup star.

It’s a clause that Spurs could also afford to include in any offer they make to sign Ounahi.

They already have plenty of central midfielders, and in the past week, a number of bit-part players have made their case to play more minutes.

Pape Matar Sarr in particular has impressed in his recent cameos, and played a full 90 minutes against Portsmouth.

Now that Napoli have made their bid to sign Ounahi, Spurs will have to quickly decide whether to try and better it.

Given the investment needed in other areas of the squad, they may have to move on from trying to sign Ounahi.
