Report: Brighton want more than £50m for Arsenal target Mac Allister

Arsenal will have to make Alexis Mac Allister one of the most expensive signings in their history if they hope to sign the Argentinian, with 90min reporting that Brighton now want more than £50 million for the World Cup winner.

Mac Allister is now being pursued by a host of clubs at home and abroad. 90min notes that both Juventus and Atletico Madrid are keen on the 24-year-old.

L’Interista reported earlier this month that Tottenham want Mac Allister. Meanwhile, AS has suggested that the Gunners want to bring him to the Emirates.

Arsenal target Mac Allister will cost over £50m

He has been outstanding for the Seagulls. And he proved to be a revelation in Qatar, helping Lionel Scaroni’s men win the trophy. Teammate Adam Lallana labelled him ‘incredible‘.

It will be no surprise to hear that his asking price has risen considerably. In fact, 90min reports that Brighton are now looking for a fee of over £50 million if they going to sell the youngster.

Obviously, a move in the January transfer window looks to be incredibly unlikely. It is a notoriously difficult window to do substantial business. And Arsenal are already pursuing a big-money move for Mykhaylo Mudryk. So their budget could soon see a massive bite taken out of it.

But it is certainly much easier to see Brighton fielding huge offers in the summer – particularly if his form continues until the end of the season.

And Arsenal – who spent big to sign Ben White from the club in 2021 – may well be in the mix if they go on and qualify for the Champions League next season.

But obviously, there is already a lot of interest in Mac Allister. And the amount of interest is only likely to grow in the next few months.
