Adam Lallana lauds Spurs target Alexis Mac Allister after World Cup final
Adam Lallana has included Tottenham Hotspur target Alexis Mac Allister in his World Cup team of the tournament, telling The Times that his incredible performances in Qatar went under the radar.
Mac Allister is a world champion. The Brighton star more than played his part in helping Argentina win the competition, providing an assist for Angel Di Maria in the final.
It is a remarkable achievement for the 23-year-old. And many would suggest that he has been one of the revelations of the tournament. However, Lallana clearly feels that his Brighton teammate has still not received quite enough credit.

Lallana was putting together his team of the tournament following Sunday’s final. And he suggested that he simply had to include him given his displays in Qatar.
“I was going to go 4-3-3, but I wanted Alexis in the side so I have switched to 4-4-2 and will play a narrow midfield, with him tucking in on the left and Griezmann on the right,” he told The Times.
“You cannot have a team full of 11 superstars and every game I have watched Alexis play, he has been incredible. Alexis goes under the radar.”
Of course, his form will not have gone unnoticed amongst the scouts at a few other clubs. In fact, there appears to be a host of teams already pursuing his signature.
L’Interista claimed last week that Spurs are amongst those who want Mac Allister. Meanwhile, Inter Milan, Juventus and Atletico Madrid are also keen on the youngster.
The interest in him is only going to increase after his exploits on the biggest stage. But Brighton will also feel that they are now entitled to demand significantly more for his signature.
He had already been in excellent form for the Seagulls, scoring five times in the Premier League.
And he can play in a number of roles within the middle of the park. It is likely that there are going to be plenty more sides wondering if they could now sign him in one of the coming windows.
