Report: Tottenham interested in Brighton star Alexis Mac Allister
Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Brighton star Alexis Mac Allister, with a number of European sides now admirers of the 23-year-old, according to a report from L’Interista.
Mac Allister is in with a fantastic chance of ending the month with a World Cup winner’s medal. Of course, along with Cristian Romero, he is a part of the Argentina side which is preparing for a semi-final in Qatar.
He actually did not play in the shock defeat with Saudi Arabia. However, he has been a key part of the side ever since, scoring in the crucial group game with Poland.

And it seems that a race for his signature is starting to heat up. According to L’Interista, a number of teams are very keen on signing the Brighton midfielder.
Inter Milan are particularly interested. But Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Spurs are also admirers of the youngster.
Tottenham, of course, signed teammate Yves Bissouma in the summer. And it would appear that they may now want another member of the Seagulls squad before too long.
Mac Allister really has taken his game to another level in recent months. He has been outstanding for Brighton this season, scoring five times in the Premier League. Only Leandro Trossard has found the back of the net more often for the club.
Joel Veltman told Brighton’s official website that Mac Allister has been ‘amazing‘ at the World Cup. Certainly, he has justified his place in the side alongside Lionel Messi. Funnily enough, Mac Allister spoke to The Athletic about Messi sticking up for him during the early stages of his Argentina career over a nickname he was not too happy with.
And at 23, he should only improve further in the years ahead.
Mac Allister is someone capable of playing in a number of midfield roles. Few midfielders in the Premier League can compete with the combined number of shots and tackles he manages (via FBRef).
Clearly, Brighton are going to demand a huge sum. But there is reason to think that he could be an outstanding signing for one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
