Arsenal’s first-team squad are currently enjoying a mid-season training camp in Dubai.

Mikel Arteta is still missing some of senior players, but this has given a number of youngsters an opportunity to impress.

A video shared by HaytersTV has shown Arteta and his side in action as they get ready for the domestic season to restart.

Arsenal got their preparations off to a good start with a 3-0 win over Lyon on Thursday.

Eddie Nketiah – who is going to play a big role in the coming weeks after the injury to Gabriel Jesus – was on the score sheet.

Gabriel Magalhaes and Fabio Vieira both also scored, while Karl Hein had a fantastic game in goal, saving four penalties.

Arteta now has Thomas Partey and Matt Turner back in training ahead of their next friendly against AC Milan.

There will be plenty of young players hoping to impress Arteta enough to be involved with the first-team when they return to north London.

One of those who has already impressed in his first-team cameos in training and matches is Marquinhos.

With a third round FA Cup match against Oxford United coming up, a number of youngsters will be eyeing a senior debut.

The young Brazilian scored on his European debut, and made his league bow against Brentford.

Marquinhos has been in training in Dubai, but won’t want to see one clip back any time soon.

In the video shared by HaytersTV of Arsenal in action, Arteta has decided to join in with one of the drills.

The squad are taking part in small rondos, trying to keep the ball away from a player in the middle.

Arteta was joined by Cedric Soares as they looked to dispossess Marquinhos, Gabriel and Rob Holding.

They’re energetically closing down the ball, and Marquinhos gets trapped with both players pressing him.

The ‘exceptional’ Brazilian ends up flicking the ball over their heads, but Arteta steals it away before Holding can reach it.

A report from CalcioMercato suggests the 19-year-old could be one of the players that benefits from Jesus’ injury.

Marquinhos scored an absolute screamer in training this week, and has shown his finishing ability in the past.

However, it would be a very bold move to start him ahead of the likes of Nketiah when the season restarts.
