Football journalist Pete O’Rourke believes Crystal Palace will be at the ‘front of the queue’ for Conor Gallagher, despite reported interest from West Ham United and Newcastle United.
The Chelsea midfielder enjoyed a brilliant campaign while on loan at Palace last season.
The ‘special’ Gallagher even earned an England call-up last season after some impressive performances under Patrick Vieira.
The 22-year-old’s impressive form led to reported interest from Newcastle and David Moyes’ side over the summer. But Gallagher remained at Stamford Bridge.
And if the England international becomes available in January, it seems that the Eagles will be leading the race to sign him.

Palace ‘front of the queue’ for Gallagher
Football journalist Pete O’Rourke says a possible move for Gallagher in January all depends on Graham Potter’s assessment of the player.
“I’m sure it’s a move that Crystal Palace would love to do. We’ll have to wait and see what Graham Potter’s plans are for Conor Gallagher,” O’Rourke told GiveMeSport.
“Does he see him fitting into his Chelsea side going forward as well? It’s a clean slate for Gallagher, and for everybody at Chelsea now under Potter.
“But if he was to become available, I’m sure Crystal Palace will be right there at the front of the queue.”

Howe was on the lookout for an attacking midfielder this summer as the club reportedly saw bids knocked back by Leicester City for James Maddison.
Newcastle didn’t manage to bring in a player like Maddison or Gallagher, so Howe could be keen to go back into the market in January.
As for West Ham, Moyes completed the signing of Lucas Paqueta from Lyon this summer and seems well-stocked in the position.
If Gallagher does become available during the next window, there will undoubtedly be a host of clubs eyeing a possible move for him after a brilliant season at Selhurst Park last campaign.
