Ange Postecoglou could be sacked if Nottingham Forest lose against Chelsea this weekend, TBR Football understands.
The 60-year-old is under major pressure after failing to win any of his first seven games in charge since replacing Nuno Espirito Santo.
Owner Evangelos Marinakis is exploring options to replace Postecoglou, including Fulham boss Marco Silva, and a number of the club’s top brass feel a quick change could be needed.
Damningly, Nottingham Forest have already lost five games under their current manager, and sources have indicated his dismissal could be imminent if they suffer another defeat.

Sources: Ange Postecoglou could go, Brendan Rodgers in contention
TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has provided an update on the club’s managerial saga, including the names in contention to replace Ange Postecoglou.
“If he loses this weekend, it’s distinctly possible he could go,” Bailey said. “There are names being mentioned – Marco Silva and Brendan Rodgers among them.
“Rodgers is out of contract at the end of the season, and there could be a real managerial merry-go-round coming up.
“Forest’s owner, Marinakis, is unpredictable. He might make a change before the international break, or he might not. It’s going to be tough for Postecoglou to keep his job.
“Could we see them go with a Sean Dyche until the end of the season before they assess things on the managerial front? That is possible. Landing managers mid-season is not easy.”
It initially appeared the Australian would be dismissed after his side’s 2-0 defeat against Newcastle before the international break, but he was instead handed a stay of execution.

Ange Postecoglou on his Nottingham Forest future
Regardless, Peter Crouch predicted Postecoglou would be sacked at Forest, while Roy Keane claimed he won’t last until the end of the season unless results change.
But the former Tottenham boss came out swinging at St James’ Park despite the speculation, insisting he was relishing the task at hand.
“I knew it was a big challenge walking in,” said Postecoglou. “There is nothing wrong with that. I don’t get why people think it is a burden but I love a challenge. The alternative is sitting at home watching the game and I don’t want to do that.
“We just have to get the results now and we have two weeks to get it right. If people want to assess me three-and-a-half weeks in, there is nothing I can say that will change that.
“What I have seen and felt in this period is that we are heading in the direction I want us to. The results will come. In the meantime, it is a struggle and a fight and there is nothing wrong with that.
“We don’t want things handed on a plate; we have to fight for it. I have fought for things all my life.”
