Ange Postecoglou at Nottingham Forest outcome inevitable according to Peter Crouch

Ange Postecoglou survived the international break, despite his poor start at Nottingham Forest, but Peter Crouch has now predicted what he thinks will happen next.

Postecoglou controversially replaced Nuno Espirito Santo in September due to off-the-field issues between the current West Ham United boss and Nottingham Forest’s ownership.

However, life at the City Ground has been anything but simple for Postecoglou, who has remained winless since taking charge of the club.

With Nottingham Forest sitting just one point above the Premier League relegation zone, the pressure on the Australian coach is now starting to become immense.

This has led to extensive speculation about his job status, with plenty of pundits offering their thoughts on what the club should do.

Peter Crouch doesn’t think Ange Postecoglou’s Nottingham Forest run will ‘end well’

Nottingham Forest’s defeat against Newcastle United before the international break increased the pressure on Postecoglou, with Roy Keane claiming he won’t last until the end of the season unless results change.

While Postecoglou has enjoyed a break from being under the spotlight, during the latest episode of That Peter Crouch podcast, the former Liverpool star predicted his future, and it wasn’t promising.

“Yeah, Big Ange, I think he’s struggling, isn’t he? And yeah, the crowd seems to be turning already. It didn’t feel like a fit, really, did it?

“When you think about Nuno’s style of play and Ange’s style of play, it was chalk and cheese. He’s just come in, I suppose, tried to make changes, but they had great success under Nuno. So I don’t think that is going to end well, if we’re being perfectly honest.”

Postecoglou has had the benefit of working closely with most of his players throughout the international break without any games to worry about.

But it remains to be seen whether that opportunity will have had any impact on the team’s adjustment to his style of play, which fans will find out on Saturday.

Nottingham Forest face Chelsea this weekend, who are fresh from defeating Liverpool, in what is guaranteed to be another tricky test.

Ange Postecoglou will need time to implement his style

The risk that Nottingham Forest took when hiring Postecoglou was the fact that his style of play is the opposite of what was happening before him, which has made this transition period a tough one.

However, if the club truly wants to see the best from him as a manager, then they will have to give him more time to implement his ideas in the group.

That will apply to training and matchdays and future signings, as Postecoglou will need to be financially backed to bring in players who fit his ideas.

That is where Nottingham Forest will have to balance things and determine whether they want to play the waiting game or take Alan Shearer’s idea and give Postecoglou just a few more matches.
