The recent good form of Newcastle United has certainly attracted plenty of attention around their players.
Miguel Almiron is the in-form player in the Premier League, and Bruno Guimaraes is now attracting interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
McCoist was asked to name which player he would take to the World Cup as a wildcard.
He said Dan Burn and Agbonlahor wholeheartedly agreed.
Burn has been a revelation since arriving at St. James’ Park in January.

He’s impressed a wide range of pundits with his performances this season.
Jamie Redknapp has described the 29-year-old as a ‘leader’ and he’s been ever-present for the Magpies this season.
While discussing the defender, Agbonlahor remarked that Burn is actually really quick.
It’s not the most surprising admission given Premier League footballers are top-level athletes.
However, Burn is surprisingly speedy for a player his size.
Burn is actually really quick – Agbonlahor
Speaking about his World Cup wildcard, McCoist said: “(Alan Shearer) will be happy with that (being McCoist’s wildcard).
“He won’t be happy with the fact I’m not playing Kieran Trippier at left-back, but he’ll be happy with that.
“He’s having a great season.”
Agbonlahor then added: “I rate Dan Burn highly. I just feel like why doesn’t he get a mention? Does he not stand out enough for Gareth Southgate?
“He doesn’t even get a look. He can play left-back as well, he’s strong, he’s quicker than people think as well.
“I remember last season he was outpacing (Romelu) Lukaku.
“He’s quick, strong, aggressive, I’ll take him.”

The £13m defender came up against Lukaku three times last season, although the Belgium forward only scored once.
Burn was still playing as a centre-back at this time, and was tasked with marking prolific forward.
Lukaku quickly discovered that Burn is actually really quick, but still got the better of him when he was playing for Brighton.
Newcastle have made the most of Burn’s pace by playing him as a left-back this season.
His exceptional form has earned him plenty of plaudits, and his size and athleticism make him a very difficult player to deal with.
