Kieran Trippier has delivered his verdict on Newcastle United fans at St James’ Park after his side’s 3-1 win over Everton last night.
The Magpies are in a relegation battle but they are responding to the challenge better than all the teams around them. Back to back wins has pushed them two points above the drop zone and if they keep this up, they will survive.
Trippier was outstanding against the Toffees last night. Not only did he do his duties as a defender well, he stepped up with a glorious free-kick to help his side pick up the win.
St James’ Park erupted after the goal and the Englishman had his say about the fans after the game.
Trippier: Newcastle fans at SJP are unbelievable
The full-back told the club’s official website after the game: “To be honest with you, I’ve played in a lot of stadiums in my career, and thought Atletico Madrid’s stadium was electric.
“But, especially tonight, when I was coming out with the big banner, and honestly I’m not just saying it, it was something I’ve never experienced in my career.
“The fans were unbelievable tonight.”

TBR View:
The last few years of the Mike Ashley era made many people forget how incredible an atmosphere Newcastle United fans can create at St James’ Park. We can all notice the difference since PIF took over.
Almost every successful club in the world has made their home ground a fortress and the atmosphere created by the fans is one of the biggest reasons why teams find it hard to play there.
Newcastle can create exactly that at St James’ park and with PIF’s resources to bolster their squad, the Magpies could well become a powerful force in the Premier League in a few years time.
