Tottenham Hotspur look like they’ve won the race to sign Richarlison from Everton this summer, and Neil Warnock has had his say on the attacker’s antics on the pitch.
Reports revealed yesterday morning that the Brazilian was scheduled to undergo a medical ahead of the completion of a deal that could eventually cost Spurs a fee as high as £60 million.
Richarlison really is a fantastic player. The 25-year-old can play anywhere across the front three and has proven his quality in the Premier League already. His work ethic is absolutely incredible, and he checks a lot of the boxes that Conte looks for in a player.
One thing about Richarlison that can be a bit annoying is his antics on the pitch. He often tends to go down too easily, which can be infuriating – not just for opposition supporters, but for his own fans as well.
Richarlison will stop diving under Antonio Conte at Tottenham
Neil Warnock was on talkSPORT this morning and had his say on rumours linking Richarlison to Tottenham. He claimed that the Brazilian goes to ground more than anybody he has ever seen, but he thinks that will all stop if he joins Spurs, because Conte will just not tolerate it.
The 73-year-old said: “You take Harry and Son out of the team, and then they haven’t got a lot up there, so I think he will do really well there.
“Also, London, a great stadium and he is a bit of a lad, isn’t he? He likes to put on a show.
“He’s theatrical. I have never seen anybody go down as easy in my life. When you blow, Richarlison is down on the floor, isn’t he?! I think he will stop doing that now. I don’t think Conte will have it, if I’m honest, and I think that’s needed. I hate to see that in the modern game.”

TBR View:
When things are going well for you, Richarlison’s antics are funny. The fact that he gets under the opposition’s skin makes it all the more enjoyable if he’s playing for your team – just ask Everton fans.
However, if it’s the other way around and your team is going through a rough spell in front of goal, the Brazilian hitting the ground every other minute will surely make you want to pull your hair out.
Warnock is right, a world-class manager like Conte will likely put a stop to that, and that could make Richarlison an even better player than he already is.
Spurs haven’t announced a deal for Richarlison just yet, but it really does look like it will go through in the coming days.
