Everyone at Tottenham Hotspur should be really excited about the prospect of signing Richarlison, but the Brazilian’s first interaction with Cristian Romero may be a bit awkward.

Reports revealed this morning that the Toffees star is scheduled to undergo a medical at Spurs ahead of the completion of a deal that could potentially go as high as £60 million.

Richarlison, on paper, is a great signing for Tottenham and Antonio Conte. He can play in numerous positions, works extremely hard for the team, and the fact that he’s still only 25 means he’ll only get better in the coming years.

If this deal goes through, we really hope Spurs will release a behind-the-scenes video of Richarlison meeting his new teammates at Tottenham – especially Romero.

Tottenham star Cristian Romero mocked Richarlison three months ago

Spurs hosted Everton in the Premier League back in March this year – a game that Richarlison won’t want to remember again. The Toffees were at the end of a 5-0 hammering at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Richarlison, as he always does, worked his socks off and tried his hardest to get anywhere near Spurs’ goal. However, almost every time he got close, he was stopped by Romero, who even picked up a yellow card after a really aggressive tackle.

Many Spurs fans felt Romero got his revenge after what happened in the reverse fixture last year. Richarlison barged into the back of the Argentine, and the two even squared up against each other. At one point, the Everton star went down holding his face, suggesting he was headbutted.

Romero, however, had the last laugh on Instagram, where he mocked the Richarlison by sharing a picture of himself receiving a yellow card in the game three months ago, while the £90,000-a-week Everton star is seen struggling on the floor.

TBR View:

If there’s one thing we learned from the two games between Everton and Tottenham last season, it’s that Romero and Richarlison didn’t get along.

Now, just over three months later, they’re on the verge of becoming teammates, which just shows how funny life is.

Richarlison and Romero will surely keep their differences aside once the Brazilian completes his move to North London. They’re both fighters, who will do everything they can to help Tottenham win.

That will be fantastic to watch for Spurs fans next season.
