'He only wants Spurs': Romano says 'exceptional' player will not join any other club, he's fixed on Tottenham

Italian outlet Viola News revealed yesterday that Tottenham Hotspur are close to signing Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

The 25-year-old is reportedly admired by both Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici, and he is viewed by Spurs as a replacement to Tanguy Ndombele, who is set to leave the club in the coming days.

The report claimed that talks between Spurs and Fiorentina are progressing well and the only thing that’s left is for the player himself to give the green light for a move this month.

That is now set to happen, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

Fabrizio Romano: Sofyan Amrabat wants Tottenham move

Amrabat, who is currently away at AFCON with Morocco, is well aware of all the negotiations that are going on in Florence between Spurs and Fiorentina.

Romano has revealed today that talks between the two clubs are at an advanced stage now. Tottenham are waiting for Ndombele to leave the club before completing a deal for the Moroccan, who has been praised for his ‘exceptional technique on the ball’.

To add to Spurs fans’ excitement, Romano further revealed that personal terms will not be a problem as Amrabat ‘only wants Spurs’ and no other club at this moment in time.

TBR View:

That is excellent news for Tottenham fans.

Conte and Paratici seem convinced that Amrabat is the right player for Spurs, who is a lot more defensive than the man he is set to replace at Tottenham – Ndombele.

If this deal goes through, Conte may just have the central midfield he needs to build his team around. The Italian’s success in his last three clubs has been down to the two holding midfielders and the wing-backs.

Amrabat and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg or Oliver Skipp could form an incredible partnership in the middle of the park and that could help Conte make Tottenham a lot more solid than they have been since his appointment.
