Report: Tottenham on verge of signing player that both Conte and Paratici really admire
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly on the verge of landing Sofyan Amrabat, according to Viola News.
Spurs are currently on the lookout for reinforcements in midfield.
Tanguy Ndombele, Dele Alli and Giovani Lo Celso have all been linked with a move away from Tottenham.
And several reports from Italy have suggested that not much now stands between Spurs and Amrabat.
Calciomercato claimed on Tuesday that Spurs were closing in on a loan with £12.5million option to buy.
Meanwhile, Viola News has now reported that all that’s left is for Amrabat to say yes to the deal.
The Morocco international is currently at the Africa Cup of Nations, so there may be a bit of a wait.
However, the Italian outlet claims ‘the general feeling is that the deal will be done’.
In addition, Viola News says both Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici have ‘great esteem’ for the 25-year-old.
Esteemed journalist Fabrizio Romano has also had his say on the links between Tottenham and Amrabat.
A surprise link, but Spurs fans can trust Conte and Paratici – TBR View
Admittedly, speculation linking Tottenham with Amrabat has come as a bit of a surprise.
He has been struggling for game time in a Fiorentina outfit that’s currently sitting outside Serie A’s top six.
However, Conte and Paratici – Serie A veterans – will be well aware of what Amrabat can offer.
And if they rate him highly, as the VN report says they do, then that’s reassuring.
Amrabat has a good range of passing, carries the ball well, and can advance play from the middle of the park.
These are traits that have been found wanting in the Spurs midfield this season.
As a transfer rumour, this will certainly be one to watch in the coming days.
