Ben Godfrey’s season couldn’t have started much worse at Everton this season.
He started the Toffees opening match of the season against Chelsea as part of a back three.
Godfrey fractured his fibula tackling Kai Havertz and now faces months out of action.

He’s had to watch his side struggle at times in their opening Premier League games.
Frank Lampard’s side are yet to win a league match, although performances have started to improve.
Everton played well against Liverpool, with Jordan Pickford and Nathan Patterson both singled out for praise.
However, it was two new signings Godfrey has been impressed with since their arrival at Goodison Park.
Godfrey impressed with new Everton signings
Speaking to Everton’s official website, Godfrey showered Conor Coady and James Tarkowski with praise. “They’re great additions.
“Good guys and good footballers – you don’t need me to say that because we’ve all seen them over the years and how good they’ve been.
“We’ve made massive improvements in terms of the personality and additions to the squad.
“They’re great guys to be around and we’ll use every bit of that.
“They’ll help us kick on.”

Everton were in desperate need to more centre-backs at the start of the season.
Godfrey was joined on the treatment table by Yerry Mina.
The Colombian may have ended up leaving Goodison Park had he not picked up an injury.
Michael Keane was also linked with a move away from Everton, and that could have left Lampard short of options.

However, in Coady and Tarkowski Everton now have two established Premier League centre-backs to choose from.
Arriving from Wolves and Burnley respectively, they’ve helped shore up what was previously a leaky defence.
It’s no wonder Godfrey has been so impressed by Everton’s new signings.
The two new additions have adapted remarkably quickly and will be vital if Everton are to avoid another brush with the relegation zone this season.
