Reported Tottenham Hotspur target and Everton star Anthony Gordon will ‘look around’ and consider his options ahead of a potential exit in the January transfer window, claims football journalist Paul Brown.

The young Englishman, branded as ‘sensational’ by James McFadden on BBC Sport (14:36), has been excellent for the Toffees over the last few months. He is one of their prized assets, but multiple top clubs have been linked with a move to sign him – Chelsea and Tottenham in particular (Sky Sports).

Everton’s Anthony Gordon is ‘going to look around’ amid claims Tottenham want to sign him

Just last month, Brown claimed on GiveMeSport, as covered on TBR Football, that Gordon’s advisors have told the likes of Tottenham and Chelsea that he’s not close to signing a new Everton deal.

The journalist has now reiterated his previous claims and revealed that Gordon will ‘look around’ in the January transfer window to see what his options are.

He told GiveMeSport: “I don’t think you’re going to be seeing Anthony Gordon signing a new contract with Everton over the next few weeks, whatever wages they offer him.

“It looks to me like he’s going to look around and see what happens in the next window before deciding his future.

“That isn’t an ideal situation for Everton, but it hasn’t really seemed to have affected him on the pitch.”

Gordon, still only 21, signed his last contract two years ago. His current deal expires in the summer of 2025.

Gordon was a wanted man in the summer with Chelsea really pushing to sign him. Tottenham were also heavily linked, but he ended up staying at Everton in the end (Paul Brown on GiveMeSport).

The 21-year-old has only scored twice for the Toffees in 10 league games so far this season, but his performances have been impressive. He’s quick, can dribble well and his finishing is not too bad either.

Gordon’s potential really is massive and under the right manager, he could reach great heights. He’ll surely be a wanted man again in the January transfer window, but whether Tottenham will make a move remains to be seen.

It will be interesting to see what will happen with Gordon, but Everton will surely not make it easy for clubs to sign him.
