Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson and West Ham star Michail Antonio are both in agreement over their opinion of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

White Hart Lane was a special place for Spurs fans for many decades and rightly so. However, to compete with the best in the world, they had to build a better stadium, and they did much more than that.

Daniel Levy helped Spurs construct an absolutely magnificent arena. The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is up there with the best-looking grounds in the world and it’s not just the fans who love it, players do too.

Antonio and Wilson have both raved about Spurs’ ground, with the latter interestingly claiming that he feels as though he’s getting ready for war every time he enters the stadium.

Wilson said on The Footballer’s Football Podcast: “If we’re talking of a stadium in terms of facilities and a building, Tottenham has to be the best stadium nowadays.

“The way that they have built that is unreal, it’s a great platform to play football on. You walk in, you feel like a football player and you feel like you’re going to be going to war today within that arena. Definitely, in terms of a building that’s up there with one of the best.”

Antonio, who became the first visiting player to score at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, added: “In terms of building I agree with you, Tottenham (have the best stadium).

“The way they have done it is unbelievable. Spent loads of money on it and it’s prime and proper, to be fair.”

It is interesting that both Wilson and Antonio stressed the fact that the building and facilities at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium make it one of the best in the world. But, Spurs’ ground can be so much more.

A stadium as amazing as the one in North London can be made into a fortress. Opponents should really fear coming to the Tottenham stadium, but at the moment, it’s far from that, some might even say it’s the opposite.

Levy has done an amazing job with the stadium and deserves immense credit. He now has to help build a side that matches the quality of the stadium, which is easier said than done.
