Arsenal’s busy summer transfer window has come to a close, with plenty of eye-catching moves made over the course of a few months.
One that perhaps went under the radar was the signing of Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia, for a bargain fee of just £13 million.
The defender replaced the outgoing Takehiro Tomiyasu, who saw his Arsenal contract terminated by mutual consent.
Mosquera offers covers at centre-back and right-back, which proved especially useful in replacing William Saliba after his injury against Liverpool.
Now the defender has spoken about the early weeks at Arsenal and just what Mikel Arteta thinks of him.

Cristhian Mosquera reveals Mikel Arteta is happy with him at Arsenal
With eight new signings at Arsenal over the course of the summer transfer window, Arteta certainly has plenty of quality at his disposal.
Being able to call upon Mosquera is certainly a privilege that few other managers are afforded, with the Spaniard capable of playing consistently, while he has some potential to grow further.
How he settles in North London could play a huge role in how his time at the club goes, but it seems to have started well.
Speaking to CadenaSER about his time at Arsenal so far, Mosquera said: “When I made the change, I knew I was joining one of the best teams in the world, with the best players.
“That I would have to compete, and it wouldn’t be easy. Arteta is very happy with me; he’s very close and is helping me a lot with the coaching staff.
“You arrive somewhere new and you have to adapt quickly to a new playing system.”
That’ll be music to the ears of the Arsenal boss, as he may have to call upon Mosquera again after the international break.
That all depends on Saliba’s injury, but it gives the opportunity for the Spaniard to shine and prove why the Gunners made the move.

Cristhian Mosquera is an underrated bit of business from Arsenal
Arsenal did plenty of business this summer, from the signing of Viktor Gyokeres to hijacking Tottenham’s move for Eberechi Eze.
Some of those stars racked up big fees in the market, but there was some value to be had, as Mosquera proves.
Paying just £13 million for a quality defender who, at 21, has plenty of room for growth could prove to be some smart business.
Given Arsenal’s struggles with sales, it’s clear that finding this sort of value, developing a player and moving them on could be the route forward.
For now, though, Mosquera will be an important part of a busy season for the side.
