Arsenal are set to assess another chaotic, yet impressive, summer transfer window as it finally comes to a close.
The Gunners splashed the cash, spending roughly £250 million on signings to help Mikel Arteta in his pursuit of winning the Premier League title.
Eight additions were made to the squad, with Andrea Berta working extremely hard on improving every aspect of the squad.
Now, it’s time for Arsenal to do their talking on the pitch, but there is a longer-term approach to be taken as well.
Stan Kroenke and his ownership group will be looking at where the team can improve for the next few transfer windows, with one clear area in which they have demanded improvement.

Arsenal owners demand improvement in sales during the transfer window
It’s no secret that Arsenal struggle to sell in the market, compared to their peers in a similar bracket of the league.
The Gunners completed just two permanent exits over the window, that being Albert Sambi Lokonga’s move to Hamburg and Nuno Tavares to Lazio.
The rest of their moves were on the loan front, some with an option or obligation to buy, while others didn’t include them at all.
| Player | Fee |
|---|---|
| Albert Sambi Lokonga | £2.5m |
| Jakub Kiwior | Loan with permanent option |
| Fabio Vieira | Loan |
| Reiss Nelson | Loan |
| Oleksandr Zinchenko | Loan |
| Nuno Tavares | £7.5m |
| Ismeal Kabia | Loan |
| Lucas Nygaard | Loan |
It marked a continuation of the issues that Arsenal faced under Edu Gaspar, which have now continued into the Andrea Berta era.
Now, according to The Athletic, the ownership group KSE want Arsenal to improve on their ability to sell players.
It’s claimed that there is a sense that the club often miss the time to offload a player for their maximum value, while their long-term vision is one where the team is self-sufficient.
It means that the £250 million window was a good one for the club, but could have been better if more funds were raised through sales.

Arsenal could’ve had a Liverpool-style transfer window with sales
Arsenal’s transfer window was impressive, but it was certainly overshadowed by their Premier League rivals.
Liverpool won the transfer window; that much is clear, following a record spend that topped the £400 million mark.
The Reds made several big signings, but it was thanks to their sales that it was all possible.
In terms of net spend, the Anfield outfit was not that far ahead of Arsenal, factoring in the moves they completed both ways.
Liverpool’s transfer for Alexander Isak was certainly the standout, while the likes of Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike also caught the eye.
It shows the Gunners that a window of that magnitude is possible, if the sales completed match can help offset the spending.
That has to be the long-term goal, but picking the right time to sell, while turning the reputation of the club for transfers around at the same time.
