Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte is desperate to sign Inter Milan star Alessandro Bastoni this summer.

The central defender has been heavily linked with a move to North London, with Spurs really pushing to sign him. However, Inter aren’t too keen to sell him, and the player himself doesn’t fancy a move away from the San Siro.

Just yesterday, Bastoni’s agent came out and put all the rumours to bed. He claimed that his client wants to continue at Inter Milan and has no interest in a transfer this summer.

However, Spurs aren’t ready to give up just yet, and Conte is apparently putting serious pressure on his old club.

Journalist: Antonio Conte has sent a warning to Inter Milan about Bastoni

One of Inter Milan’s priority transfer targets this summer irrespective of what happens with Bastoni is Torino defender Gleison Bremer. The Brazilian has had a sensational season in Italy, and he has been linked with a move to the Nerazzurri for a few months now.

Tottenham have been rumoured to be interested in Bremer too, and Conte now has a plan to use the threat of signing the Torino man to force Inter Milan to sell Bastoni to Spurs.

That’s according to Italian journalist Gian Luca Rossi, who said on Telelombardia, as relayed by FcInter1908: “It is no mystery that Antonio Conte likes Bastoni.

“Indeed, from the information I have gathered, Conte is ready to put a spoke in the wheel at Inter. The message that Conte sent to Inter is more or less: if you don’t leave Bastoni with me, I’ll go to Bremer.”

TBR View:

Tottenham really do need a new central defender this summer, and both Bastoni and Bremer are excellent players.

It seems clear that the Inter Milan man is Conte’s preferred option. The 23-year-old is a phenomenal player and the fact that the Spurs boss has worked with him in the past is an added bonus as well.

Bremer, however, is not a bad defender by any means. He was arguably the best defender in the Serie A last season, and his performances attracted rave reviews from everyone who watched him, including Fabrizio Romano, who branded him as ‘incredible’.

It will be interesting to see how this pans out, but if Rossi is to be believed, Inter have to let Bastoni go to Tottenham to have any chance of signing Bremer this summer.
