Arsenal will be ready to make move if Moises Caicedo becomes available

Arsenal remain admirers of Moises Caicedo and are expected to make a move if they get any indication that Brighton would be open to offers for the midfielder, according to a report from 90min.

Caicedo has established himself as one of the most exciting midfield talents in the Premier League with the high-flying Seagulls. He, like several of his teammates, has been a revelation this season.

Unsurprisingly, the interest in him is building. According to a report from 90min, Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle and Manchester United are all keen on the 21-year-old.

And the report claims that they are all expected to battle for the Ecuador international should they receive any encouragement from Brighton that they would be open to letting him go.

The report adds Brighton are not expected to entertain any offers in the January transfer window. That is hardly surprising given how good he has been in recent months.

Arsenal showing interest is not new. The Sunday Mirror reported in the summer that the Gunners were keen on a deal for Caicedo.

Reports from The Times this week claimed that Arsenal have made Declan Rice their top target for the summer. West Ham expect to sell the England international, who is valued at around £80 million.

So it is hardly surprising that Mikel Arteta’s men are very much in the race for Caicedo. Like Rice, he is one of the best midfielders in the division. And he is only going to get considerably better in the coming years.

It seems that he may be cheaper than first thought. The Daily Mirror recently suggested that his asking price has dropped from £85 million to around £65 million.

Based on his ‘magnificent‘ form this term, he would definitely be worth that sort of outlay.
