The amount of games Ange Postecoglou has to save his Nottingham Forest job predicted by Alan Shearer

Ange Postecoglou has had a difficult start to life at Nottingham Forest, and Alan Shearer has predicted how many games he has to save his job.

The former Tottenham Hotspur boss may have only replaced Nuno Espirito Santo at the start of September, but after just seven games in charge, he is already dealing with speculation about his future.

TBR Football revealed owner Evangelos Marinakis is considering Postecoglou’s future, with Fulham boss Marco Silva being considered a possible replacement.

Nottingham Forest have not won since Postecoglou took charge of the team, leaving them 17th in the Premier League table, just one point above the relegation zone.

Given football’s cutthroat nature, Postecoglou finds himself in a tricky situation. He needs to start turning results around quickly to keep his job.

Alan Shearer believes Ange Postecoglou is running out of time at Nottingham Forest

Premier League managers are rarely given lots of time, especially when results are going against them, and Shearer doesn’t believe Postecoglou has long left to keep his job at the City Ground.

On the Premier League Productions’ Weekend Wrap, the Newcastle United legend spoke about how many games he believes the Nottingham Forest boss has left to turn results around.

“You know the rules when you go into football management, and you have to accept that,” Shearer said.

“You have to accept that he knows the football world, the Premier League is looking at him, knowing that if he doesn’t get a result pretty soon, i.e., the next game or at least the one after, he might not have a job anyway.”

Nottingham Forest’s next fixture is at home against Chelsea on October 18, following the international break. Given the momentum of Enzo Maresca’s men, this will be a tough challenge.

Then, there will be a Europa League fixture against Porto and an away trip against Bournemouth, which could be the three games Postecoglou has to win his job.

The mood at Nottingham Forest isn’t positive right now

Despite the incredible success that Nottingham Forest had last season, the general mood around the club appears to be rather negative after their difficult start to the season.

Alex Crook revealed that Postecoglou can be an “isolated” figure on the training pitch, as he doesn’t engage with his players much.

This isn’t helping to improve the overall mood and morale at the club, after what has been a tough period with little joy.

Postecoglou has had little joy in the Premier League of late. The end of his Tottenham spell also saw him struggle to produce positive results, adding further pressure on him.
